WHAT ARE THE COSTS OF WINDOWS SOFTWARE???
I have done a bit of research...
An Office computer's base Windows software costs about $807!
A School computer's base Windows software costs about $358!
A Home computer with very little software. Windows software cost: $154!
An enterprise Server computer's Windows OS costs at least $3999!
-------------------
So, we are talking serious bucks ($807 for an office computer), sometimes half of a computer's total cost.
That's why you should halve your computer's cost by getting Linux, which has many more stuff than Windows.

For this post I will completely digress from Linux and bring you news. Visit MissAnthropy's Quizzes, and talk a quiz, such as "What is your heart really made of?" Mine is made of Stone. Also, visit another "discuss blog", known as Cool Tech Discuss. Finally, the movie you may have been seeing at the top of the page is weird... You can click on it to make it stop, or start. That is all.

LINUX IS THE really reall coolest. Umm? Yeah, it, rocks
LINUX BEGINNERS!!! Listen up!
What distributions of Linux are the best?
I run Windows XP. Well then look at these:
NOTE: to burn .ISO images to CDs, you need special software. Get the trial version of Nero.
I want to run Linux without partitioning my hard drive.
---Try topologilinux. (www.topologilinux.com) How to get: Download .ISO, burn to CD with CD burning software.
Pros Cons
You don't need to partition Not many programs, you can't enjoy linux
Good for introducing Linux Desktops Bad for introducing and testings advanced versions of Linux
Free
---Try knoppix (www.knopper.net), especially if you have an FAT32 windows partition. (Check your hard drive, click to properties to check) How to run: Put CD in computer and restart computer. How to get: download .ISO and burn CD with CD burning software. or order from agileos.com. Knoppix is live CD, meaning it runs from the RAM, is safe, and does not have any need to partition. There are many more live CD versions of Linux available (many, many, more)....
Pros Cons
You don't need to partition Can't save files on hard drive if you have an NTFS
Absolutely totally no possiblity of destroying your computer unless you are trying to destroy it
Many programs Slightly slow
Free Not recommended to be
Runs on CD, no installation needed
Good for trying out linux
I want to partition my hard drive, or delete Windows from it.
--Try lindows. (www.lindows.com). If you want to try it, make sure you see www.lindows.com/kiosk.swf.
Pros Cons
Very user friendly Costs up to $100
Great for beginners
No problems
Much help available
--Try Fedora. It is free. You can download a .ISO file.
Pros Cons
Haven't tried it, but it comes from Red Hat, so it must be good.
[Con... continued] You probably will want to delete Windows, also with Lindows you should delete Windows
